The RHGX type of casing can be used for switch-board panel cut-out mounting of COMBIFLEX modular relays and assemblies. If direct surface mounting is needed the RHGS cases can be used or the panel frames shown in the data sheet.
The beige colored RHGX cases are available in five different sizes for 4, 8, 12, 20 and 40 COMBIFLEX relay seats. RHGX cases can be combined with mounting accessories to get maximum flexibility for different panel depths and mounting methods. The cases have a front door with rubber seals for IP 50 protection.
The RHGX case is a metal box with a non-sealed rear. It has a collar flange providing a stop when the case is inserted into a front panel opening. The cases are held in place by four screw-clamps that attach to the sides and holds the case in place against the panel. Internally, the case is provided with a support frame.
The frame has space for 4U assemblies of width to match the number of mounting seats. The large RHGX 40 has space for two full 19” wide 4U assemblies with up to 40 relay seats. COMBIFLEX relays and other apparatus which shall be mounted in RHGS are mounted onto apparatus bars available in matching lengths.
The color of the case is beige, matching the other ABB relay product series. A spacer frame for semi-flush mounting is available.
The RHGX cases are not intended for mounting in 19” racks or cubicles. Different sizes can be mounted together side by side to utilize the width of the frame in the cubicle.

An adapter for DIN-rail screw terminal bars is used to mount COMBIFLEX-relays inside the relay cubicle directly onto the screw terminal bars. The bases for terminal bars comprise one RX terminal base, available in four sizes, plus a mounting arrangement consisting of one steel adapter mounting bracket, two, three, or four plastic clamp-fit holders and screws.
Connections are normally made directly to the terminal bases via COMBIFLEX-connections. The adapter can be used without the plastic holders for direct surface mounting on to, e.g. a concrete wall or another surface.
